EXPRESS ENTRY : CANADA
Express Entry is a system used by the Canadian government/ officials to manage Canadian permanent residence (PR) applications for filling labor gaps through certain economic immigration programs. It was launched on January 1st, 2015. Basically it is a pool system, where application are submitted by different persons. These people are certainly willing to be and at the same time eligible to apply or get Permanent Residency in Canada or its provinces.
Express Entry process
In the online Express Entry process, there are 2 ways to apply:
- Person can contact the province and apply for a nomination under this stream.
- In addition, if the province (territory) agrees to nominate you.
- Subsequently you can create a profile (or update your profile if you already have one) and show you have been nominated.
OR
- Create an Express Entry profile and show the provinces and territories you’re interested in.
- If a province or territory sends you a “notification of interest” to your account, you contact them directly.
- You apply to their Express Entry stream:
- If nominated, the province will offer it to you through your account, and you accept it electronically.
In both cases:
- Above all, you must meet the eligibility requirements of the province or territory.
- You must submit an Express Entry profile
- And show that you meet the minimum criteria as per set by Canadian Government or Provinces for Express Entry.
- After that, if you are invited to apply, you submit an electronic (Online) application to IRCC.

To be nominated by a province or territory, you must follow the instructions on their website and contact them directly:

Then NEW BRUNSWICK
After that NEWFOUNDLAND & LABRADOR
Then NORTHWEST TERRITORIES
Then NOVA-SCOTIA
After that ONTARIO
Then PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND
Then SASKATCHEWAN
Lastly YUKON
The criteria by province and territory vary and can change without notice.
For instance, the Province of Quebec do not have a PNP program like the other Provinces (Territories) mentioned above.
Express Entry 2019 Highlights:
The number of ITA’s issued in the year 2019 were 83,300. Segregating it, 41800 ITA’s were issued in the first half of the year after that, 43,500 ITA’s were issued in the latter half.
During the Year 2019 fewest ITA’s were issued as compared to 2017 and 2018, which were 86,023 and 89,800 ITA’s likewise.
